Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump weighed in this morning on the shootings of the past two days, offering "prayers and condolences" to the families but addressing no specific incident.
"Prayers and condolences to all of the families who are so thoroughly devastated by the horrors we are all watching take place in our country," Trump tweeted.
Eleven police officers were shot and five were killed in Dallas Thursday night by at least two snipers, amid a protest against the recent police shootings of two black men, Alton Sterling in Louisiana, and Philando Castile in Minnesota, according to the Dallas Police.
Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is expected to deliver remarks today about the deaths of Sterling and Castile while campaigning alongside Vice President Joe Biden in his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, as well as during an appearance at the African-Methodist Episcopal Convention in Philadelphia, according to a campaign aide.
