With polls showing a neck-and-neck presidential race in the bellwether state of Ohio, President Obama will look to capitalize on a week of brutal headlines for Donald Trump to try and sway voters during a speech in Cleveland early this afternoon.
Last night the president admitted that his wife's passionate rebuke of Trump in New Hampshire yesterday was hard to beat.
Michelle Obama did not hold back in her attack against the GOP nominee, excoriating his behavior toward women and denouncing Trump's comments from a leaked 2005 "Access Hollywood" video interview.
Former President Bill Clinton called it “best speech of the campaign.”
Obama joked last night about the speech at a Democratic Party dinner in Ohio, saying, "She was pretty good."
"I mean, that's why you get married, to improve your gene pool," Obama said. "So your kids end up being superior to you."
Obama then set his sights on Republicans who he accused of “feeding their base all kinds of crazy for years” that allowed for the rise of someone like Trump. Obama has vowed to be a constant advocate for Clinton on the campaign trail in the final stretch leading up to Nov. 8 election.
