Obama to Stump for Clinton-Kaine in Philadelphia

President Obama is set to hit the campaign trail today for to stump for Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine in Philadelphia.

At a public event this afternoon, Obama will lay out the high stakes of November's election for Pennsylvania families and encourage Pennsylvanians to register to vote ahead of the Oct. 11 deadline, according to the Clinton campaign.

The president is expected to urge Pennsylvanians to support Clinton and her vision for an America that is stronger together, with an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top, the campaign added.

Afterward, Obama will raise money for the Democratic National Committee at a private fundraiser in Philadelphia before stopping at a fundraiser in New York City to raise money on behalf of House Democrats.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest previewed the president’s day of campaigning. “I think you can look forward to the president making a strong, affirmative case about why he believes she would be an excellent president of the United States and why he is forcefully supporting her as a candidate,” Earnest said Monday. “The president's going to be in a mode tomorrow where he's enthusiastically advocating for her election.”

Clinton is off the campaign trail, recuperating at her Chappaqua, New York, home from pneumonia that has caused her to cancel at least three days of planned events so far.
