Indiana Governor Meeting With Trump Family as VP Search Narrows

The race to fill Donald Trump's ticket appears to be whittled down to three main prospects and one candidate is getting some serious face-time with the Trump family this morning.

Campaign sources told ABC News that Donald Jr., Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner are joining Trump and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence at Pence's home in Indiana this morning.

Sources tell ABC News that Trump was not supposed to stay in Indiana last night. It was only after his campaign had some technical issues that Trump and his team were forced to spend the night following a rally in Westfield, where Pence introduced Trump.

The pair met after his rally and sources say the two had "a very good chat," though no job was offered to the Governor at that point.

The person who will be the final vice presidential pick is reportedly going to be introduced on Friday alongside Trump.

The other two top contenders are former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who has publicly announced that he is being vetted for the job, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who ABC News can confirm is being vetted.

All three of the top contenders have appeared with Trump at events in recent weeks.

Trump has praised the three men at their respective events together. At the Westfield, Indiana event Tuesday night, Trump asked the crowd if they thought their governor was doing a good job, adding that he thinks so.

At a rally in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 6, Trump was introduced by Gingrich.

"Newt has been my friend for a long time. And I'm not saying anything, and I'm not telling even Newt anything, but I can tell you, in one form or another, Newt Gingrich is going to be involved with our government," Trump said. "That I can tell you."

On Tuesday, Fox News announced that they were suspending their contract with Gingrich "due to the intense media speculation about Gingrich's potential selection as Donald Trump's vice presidential candidate."

Christie has been a regular on the campaign trail ever since endorsing Trump in late February.

Earlier this week, Christie, who was a state's attorney before being elected governor, introduced Trump at an event in Norfolk, Virginia when Trump labeled himself the "law and order" candidate.

Trump told The Wall Street Journal Tuesday that he is looking for a "fighter who is skilled in hand-to-hand combat" to run as his vice president.

Trump later said that Christie and Gingrich are "two extraordinary warriors" and "I clearly have it with Chris and Newt."
