The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has been targeted in a cyber-attack, the committee's national press secretary Meredith Kelly said today.
"The DCCC can confirm that we have been the target of a cybersecurity incident," Kelly said in a statement to ABC News.
An investigation into the attack is ongoing but investigators have said "this is similar to other recent incidents, including the DNC breach," Kelly said, referring to the recent hack of the Democratic National Committee.
The DCCC is working with federal law enforcement in further investigating the matter, Kelly said. The DCCC has also hired outside forensic experts at CrowdStrike to investigate.
The DCCC, the official campaign arm for House Democrats, is the main fundraising organization for Democrats running for election in the House of Representatives.
