Vice President Joe Biden said he has no interest in being "re-upping" for vice president under Hillary Clinton.
During an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, Biden said he plans to help Clinton get elected.
"I'm not interested in re-upping for VP. I'll do anything I can to help her win. And I think she's going to win, but I have been proud to serve for eight years as vice president, and I think that's enough," Biden said.
When asked about the latest polls showing more Americans think the presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is more honest than Hillary Clinton, Biden responded that the campaign is still early and Clinton's experience will prove important as the election nears.
"I think she fixes it just by the campaign, and for people to listen more closely to what Donald Trump is saying," he said. "This is early in the campaign season. My grand-pop used to say people didn't focus 'till after the World Series. He's wrong. Now I think they begin to really focus after Labor Day. But I don't think there's even a remote comparison between the competence."
"The question is are the proposals that Hillary Clinton's put forward honest and real and going to fundamentally positively impact on the lives of the vast majority of the American people? And is Donald Trump, is what he's putting forward honest and straightforward, in being able to do anything constructive for dealing with the problems America faces? On that score, I think it's gonna be clear before the election day," Biden said.
