He’s been pummeled on policy and his pugnacious stump speeches but now Donald Trump faces attack ads focusing on something altogether different – the size of his hands.
A super PAC titled "Americans Against Insecure Billionaires with Tiny Hands" released a minute-long ad questioning whether or not the real estate mogul-turned-presumptive Republican presidential nominee would be able to serve as president with his "little hands."
A spokesman for the PAC said that the ad aired once on MSNBC in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia on Wednesday night during primetime. MSNBC did not immediately return ABC News' request for confirmation.
The dig at Trump's hands allegedly stems from an incident that took place nearly 30 years ago when a magazine editor called Trump a "short-fingered vulgarian." The bizarre story resurfaced earlier in the presidential campaign and then-competitor Sen. Marco Rubio seized on the topic, bringing up Trump's hands at a presidential debate in Detroit in March.
Trump's hands have not been mentioned again until this week when the PAC released its ad that features three actors asking how Trump would be able to follow through on certain presidential acts.
"How can he create jobs if his hands are too small to shake on the deal?" one said.
"When he decides to launch his nuclear war, will his stubby fingers even be able to push the button all the way down?" another said.
The PAC was first formed on March 7, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission.
Initially called "Trump Has Tiny Hands," the super PAC was notified by the FEC that it had to change the name because the "committee does not appear to be an authorized committee of that candidate," and thus is not allowed to include a candidate's name in the title.
The name was subsequently changed to "Americans Against Insecure Billionaires with Tiny Hands."
According to FEC reports, the PAC has a total of $1,753 in contributions and has spent $808 as of March 31.
"Though most of our donations are small, they are still significantly larger than Mr. Trump's hands," the group's spokeswoman Katie Nguyen told ABC News.
The group is actively asking Trump to release his hand measurements.
