Ryan Rips Trump for 'Textbook' Racist Remarks About Judge

House Speaker Paul Ryan ripped Donald Trump this morning for his recent comments about a federal judge, but expressed no regrets about endorsing the New York businessman.

"I regret those comments that he made," the Wisconsin Republican said in Washington today of Trump’s remarks questioning the judge’s fitness to oversee a civil lawsuit against Trump University.

"Claiming a person can't do their job because of their race is sort of like the textbook definition of a racist comment."

Ryan, who endorsed Trump last week because he said the GOP presumptive nominee supports the House GOP's election-year policy agenda, said he has more in common, in terms of policy, with Trump than a President Hillary Clinton.

"I believe that we have more common ground on policy issues of today, and we have more likelihood of getting our policies enacted with him than we do with her," Ryan said.
