Obama Endorses Hillary Clinton for President

President Obama today endorsed presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for president, saying in an online video, “I’m with her.”

Clinton posted a video of the endorsement to her official campaign website, just an hour after Sen. Bernie Sanders left the White House after a private meeting with Obama in the Oval Office.

"I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office,” Obama says in the three-minute, 15-second video. “She’s got the courage, the compassion and the heart to get the job done.”

Obama thanks Sanders in the video for bringing the message of income inequality into the campaign, a message he said Democrats will take with them from here on. Sanders did not comment on his meeting with Obama before leaving the White House today, vowing to continue his campaign through the Washington, D.C., primary next Tuesday.

Obama says in the video he "can't wait" to join Clinton on the campaign trail, and he will make his debut alongside Clinton next Wednesday in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
