At a press conference in Palm Beach, Florida, Tuesday night, Donald Trump told the crowd, "This was an amazing evening -- this was a great evening. ABC News projects Trump won GOP primaries in Illinois, Florida and North Carolina.
"Florida was so amazing," Trump said. He also gave a shout-out to the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. commonwealth, saying "The Northern Mariana Islands have been so incredible."
Trump spoke of unity among Republicans, saying, "We have to bring our party together. We have something happening, that probably makes the Republican party the biggest story in the world. Millions of people are coming into vote."
He added of the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, "Paul Ryan called me the other day. We had a tremendous call."
Trump also spoke about the exodus of U.S. companies overseas, citing companies including the Carrier Corporation, which announced recently it is moving an air conditioning facility to Mexico. "Frankly I'm disgusted by it, and am tired of seeing it. It's gross incompetence at the highest level...It's because politicians can't get along. They can't make a deal...Everybody agrees the money should be here...We don't win at trade."
As for Trump's key issue of border control, he said, "We need protection in our country, and that is going to happen."
The GOP frontrunner kept the tone upbeat, saying. "We are going to have a great victory.
And Trump's notorious disdain for the media was also present in his speech. "They don't understand basic physics, basic mathematics, basic whatever you want to call it," he said.
