Former first lady Nancy Reagan will be laid to rest today beside beloved husband “Ronnie.”
She will be buried at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.
In addition to an expected 1,000 invited guests, there will be readings by some well-known politicians and newscasters.
Journalists Diane Sawyer will give a Gospel reading and Tom Brokaw will share his thoughts.
Nancy Reagan's children, Patti Davis and Ronald Prescott Reagan Jr., will share their reflections, as will their father's former chief-of-staff James Baker.
Among the other guests of honor will be four of the five living first ladies: Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton and Rosalynn Carter.
Former President George Bush is the only president that will be in attendance, with President Obama scheduled to be in Texas for his speech to the South by Southwest conference.
Members of the Kennedy, Nixon, Johnson and Ford families will also be in attendance.
Californians like Rep. Nancy Pelosi, former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and current Gov. Jerry Brown are on the guest list.
The Santa Susana High School Choir will sing “Battle Hymn of the Republic” at the beginning of the service, which starts at 11 a.m. local time, and perform “Amazing Grace” at the end before a recessional of bagpipers and a rendition of “God Bless America.”
