Iowa Caucuses 2016: Highlights From the Hawkeye State

Need proof that the 2016 presidential race is unlike any other? Look no further than Monday night’s Iowa caucuses.

On the Republican side, both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio defied expectations. ABC News projected Cruz as Iowa’s Republican victor around 10:30 p.m. Eastern, with the Texas senator bumping party frontrunner Donald Trump down to runner-up status. Rubio came in a close third just behind Trump.
