Dr. Michael J. Rosenberg, who is also CEO of a Durham, North Carolina-based medical concern, was the pilot of the EMB 500/Phenom 100 twin engine jet that flew out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina Monday, the Associated Press reported.
Six people were killed in the aftermath of the crash, including Rosenberg, whose residence is on Wiley Trail at the Fly-In. Two of Rosenberg's passengers were killed, as well as a 36-year-old mother and her two young sons, one of the children a 1-month-old infant, the Associated Press reported.
Witnesses told authorities that the plane was flying too low over the Gaithersburg, Maryland neighborhood and was careening wildly just before it crashed. Its destination was Montgomery County Airpark near Gemmel's neighborhood, the Associated Press article shows.
Rosenberg had just gotten married in May to Alicia Paladin of Durham, Volusia County records show.
