Nine passengers aboard a small Bahamas-bound aircraft are dead after reportedly crashing Sunday night.
The private Learjet had been on its way to Grand Bahamas International in Freeport off the coast of Florida, according to a Tribune 242 report.
Photos show rescuers scaling piles of debris at the Grand Bahama Shipyard where the plane reportedly hit a crane and 'exploded on impact' while attempting to land, the Tribune wrote.
The shipyard is about three miles from the airport.
The passengers, which may have included Minister Myles Munroe, Tribune reports suggest, and his family, were on their way to tomorrow's Global Leadership Forum hosted by the Bahamas Faith Ministries.
Munroe, 60, is the founder of the Bahamas ministries and a published author.
The cause of the crash is not known.
