Man killed amid Ferguson riots was shot, set on fire: cops

The 20-year-old Missouri man found dead in a parked car had a bullet in his head and accelerant poured on his body in an apparent attempt to light him on fire, police have revealed.

The new details into DeAndre Joshua's mysterious death, since ruled a homicide, follow his body's discovery Tuesday morning outside a Ferguson apartment complex near where Michael Brown was shot and killed in August.

'The victim sustained severe burns to his arm, fingers and both legs,' St. Louis police said in a release.

The fire inside Joshua's white Pontiac Grand Prix ended up going out on its own. After what's suspected to have been several hours, he was found by a neighbor at 9 a.m., authorities said.

Police said they are actively investigating Joshua's death and interviewing witnesses to find possible suspects.

As of Wednesday they said it's unknown whether his death is related to the nearby rioting over a grand jury's decision not to indict Brown's killer.
