The RCMP says it has uncovered 'persuasive evidence' that Michael Zehaf-Bibeau's attack on Parliament Hill last week was politically and ideologically motivated.
The police force said it is currently examining a video prepared by Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau prior to the attack, but the video would not be released at this time.

In a statement released Sunday evening, RCMP commissioner Bob Paulson revealed new details about the investigation that shed light on how Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau was able to carry out the attack. He had been living in a homeless shelter in Ottawa for several weeks as he attempted to renew a Libyan passport, yet was able to purchase a used car that was used in the assault.
Mr. Paulson said that Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau had worked in the oil fields in Alberta and had saved a considerable sum of money. They are currently investigating how that money was spent in the days leading up to the attack.
The police said they believe the knife he was carrying during the attack had been stashed away at an aunt's property in Mont Tremblant, where Mr. Zehaf-Bibeau had lived several years earlier.
The RCMP said the gun used to kill Corporal Nathan Cirillo may have similarly been hidden at his relative's property, but they continue to investigate that aspect of the crime.
More to come...
