Stephen Collins told wife about incestuous impulses before daughter's birth: report

Years before he was investigated for child molestation, Stephen Collins allegedly told his wife he was thankful they didn't have a son - because he wouldn't be able to control his incestuous fantasies if they did.

In a 2013 email to the '7th Heaven' star, Collins' estranged wife recalled a horrifying remark he made about his lewd sexual desires, TMZ reported.

'The comment you made just before I gave birth to our daughter when you said you hoped we didn't have a little boy, because 'you just didn't know if you could keep his little penis out of your mouth,' was indication enough that you were sick,' Faye Grant allegedly wrote.

She continued: ''I should have followed my gut then, and then again 14 years ago, and kicked your ass to the curb.'

Sources close to Collins dismissed the email - and his vulgar comment - as 'absolutely untrue.'

New York and California police launched an investigation into Collins after they reviewed a tape that recorded the TV star confessing to sexually harassing three young girls.

Grant said she secretly recorded the tape during a January 2012 therapy session and released it to police that year, but she denied leaking it to the media this week.

In the shocking tape, Collins said he molested a New York girl in 1972 and later exposed himself to two other victims. The alleged attacks were on girls between the ages of 10 and 14, he said.

Collins and Grant separated a month after the January 2012 therapy session, but their divorce has yet to be finalized.

In a November 2013 divorce document, Grant said she was concerned about Collins' health and the safety of those around him.

After his confession, Collins saw a 'sexual dysfunction therapist' for sex addiction, but he never sought help specifically for his 'predilection towards children,' Grant wrote in the document.

'I am particularly afraid of what may happen if he does not seek treatment because he may be working or interacting with children in connection to his employment,' she wrote.

She also said she believed there were more victims than the three Collins' confessed to abusing.

Collins' attorney accused Grant of blackmail Tuesday and claimed she has been threatening to release the tape for years.

'It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape - not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled,' Mark Vincent Kaplan told TMZ.
