LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Calgary-shot 'Fargo' has landed the Emmy Award for this year's best miniseries.
The FX drama, inspired by the 1996 Coen brothers film, boasted an all-star cast headed by Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman. It will return next season with a new ensemble.
Its rivals for best miniseries were 'American Horror Story: Coven' (FX), 'Bonnie & Clyde' (Lifetime), 'Luther' (BBC America), 'Treme' (HBO) and 'The White Queen' (Starz).
A number of Canadians worked on the production, which airs on FXX Canada.
It was nominated for a total of 18 Emmys.
