MMA fighter War Machine was caught in Simi Valley, California on Friday, a week after he allegedly beat his former girlfriend, porn star Christy Mack. The search for him was publicized during the week by reality TV star Dog the Bounty Hunter, who says he helped in the search.
As we have been reporting this week, War Machine, whose real name is Jon Koppenhaver, went to see Mack early Friday morning at her Las Vegas home. There, she was with another person and she claimed on Twitter that he beat her to a pulp, leaving her with 18 broken bones. Mack shared graphic photos of her injuries on the social network.
As for Koppenhaver, he claimed that he was innocent and had arrived at the home to propose to Mack. Insead, he tweeted, he 'ended up fighting for my life.'
After the incident was reported, police could not locate Koppenhaver. So, Duane 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' Chapman joined the hunt and brought further attention to the case.
Now, The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Koppenhaver has been captured in Simi Valley. Police said he was found at an Extended Stay America hotel at 1:45 p.m. He is currently being held at Ventura County Jail without bond.
Mack claims that she broke off her relationship with Koppenhaver back in May. Her friends told the media that they had warned her about him. Howard Levine, president of Exquisite Entertainment, told Fox News that Koppenhaver was 'delusional.'
As for Chapman, he said on Twitter that he will appear on CNN Saturday morning to discuss Koppenhaver's capture and the search for him. Kaleo Padilla, who works as security for Chapman, tweeted that he was proud to be a part of the search.
