BATH, N.Y. -- Steuben County leaders said they're prepared to handle any concerns from veterans after the resignation of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki last week over the scandal involving wait times at VA facilities.

Locally, leaders said they have had two complaints that have been addressed.

The Steuben County Veterans Service Agency works closely with the Bath VA when handling complaints. Bath VA leaders could not comment directly on what is happening on the federal level, but say they have received calls from veterans.'We have received some calls from people who are highly pleased with their care in here and they call us specifically to let us know that they appreciate the good care that they got here. That helps to keep our morale up and it also helps us keep serving our veterans as well as we can,' said Bath VA Acting Chief of Staff Dr. Manish Sahni.

Leaders said it is too early to tell how Shinseki's resignation will affect operation at the local level.
