A Mexican law enforcement helicopter crossed the U.S. border and reportedly fired two shots near American border agents Thursday morning.
The helicopter was carrying out a law enforcement operation when it mistakenly traveled about 100 yards north into Arizona's Tohono O'odham Reservation about 5:45 a.m., U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement.
Two shots were fired but no injuries or damage to U.S. property was reported. The incident is currently under investigation, the agency said.

A law enforcement source told CNN that Mexican authorities have since called U.S. officials to acknowledge their mistake.
