At least seven people were injured after a fire engine careened into a Southern California Chinese food restaurant Wednesday afternoon.
The truck crashed directly into the Lu Dumpling House restaurant at the intersection of Emerson and Garfield Aves. in Monterey Park around 3:15 p.m. Pacific Time, according to KNBC-TV.
Video of the scene shows Los Angeles County Fire Department members and paramedics tending to several people sitting on a sidewalk and a nearby bus shelter.
It's unclear where the truck was headed when it slammed into the building, but pictures of the scene show tire marks streaking through the center of the intersection.
About 45 minutes after the crash, paramedics assembled stretchers to take away four people in ambulances.
The extent of their injuries are unclear. A local hospital, the Garfield Medical Center, is only about a block away.
