36k runners prepare for first Boston Marathon since bombings

36,000 runners are getting ready for the Boston Marathon on Monday, one year after two bombs at the finish line cut the race short.

Three people were killed and more than 260 others were injured in the attack.

Participants are focused on finishing this year, running on the mantra 'Boston Strong.'

9,000 more runners are registered this year than last, many of them were victims of the bombings.

One million spectators are also expected to line the 26.2 mile course to cheer them on. Some say it's appropriate that the marathon is being run on Patriot's Day.
