Police investigate funeral procession shooting in Duxbury, Mass.

(NECN: Nicole Jacobs, Plymouth, Mass.) - Mourning turned into a crime scene as authorities say a funeral procession was interrupted by gunfire.Just before noon along Route 3 in Duxbury, shots were allegedly fired from a Bentley into a red Dodge SUV.According to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office, a man is in custody and it appear that the two parties knew each other.Authorities say the driver of the SUV was shot and got out of his vehicle before a passerby picked him up and took him to the Duxbury Police Department. He was then taken to the hospital.In the meantime, police had already caught up with he alleged gunman, the driver of the Bentley. He was booked at the Middleboro State Police barracks.All the chaos left quite a mess on Route 3 southbound. Gridlock traffic was backed up for several miles and diverted while investigators work the scene.
