Adam Lanza was 'evil' and would have killed me 'in a heartbeat,' says his dad

Adam Lanza's dad says the boy would have killed him 'in a heartbeat' and wishes his psycho mass murderer son had never been born.

In a shocking new interview, Peter Lanza dubbed his gun-crazy boy 'evil' for killing his mom, 20 kids, six staff and then himself at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Connecticut, on Dec. 14, 2012.

'You can't get any more evil,' he told The New Yorker.

'How much do I beat up on myself about the fact that he's my son? A lot,' he added.

Lanza, a vice president for GE Energy Financial Services who divorced Adam's mom Nancy in 2009, revealed he hadn't seen his child for two years before the shocking shooting.

He also believes Adam would easily have killed him like he did his mother.

'I don't question that for a minute. The reason he shot Nancy four times was one for each of us: one for Nancy; one for him; one for [his brother] Ryan; one for me,' he said.

Describing his youngest son as 'socially awkward,' Lanza believed his child - diagnosed with Asperger's - was in fact an undiagnosed schizophrenic.

'Asperger's makes people unusual, but it doesn't make people like this,' he told the magazine from his home in Fairfield County.

Doubting that the official diagnosis was the cause of the murder spree, Lanza said it was 'a mask that veiled a contaminant' and allowed him to act bizarrely without question.

Lanza said his ex-wife, the first to be shot dead in the sickening spree, did not know how dangerous their son had become.

'She never confided [...] about being afraid of him. She slept with her bedroom door unlocked and kept guns in the house which she wouldn't have done if she were frightened,' he added.

Lanza, who has had 'gut-wrenching' meetings with two of the victims' families, also refused to reveal where his son - who turned the gun on himself - was buried.

He also said he had to recognize how his son had grown up and changed.

'You can't mourn for the little boy he once was. You can't fool yourself,' he added.
